The mission of the First Aid Unit (F.A.U.) is to provide training in First Aid to the members of the Hellenic Rescue Team — both from the Central Administration and the Regional Branches — as well as to inform and train external organizations, such as associations, schools, companies, and individuals outside the H.R.T.
The unit is composed of certified First Aid instructors and trained members, and it operates in support of all other operational units within the organization.
The training levels for the rescuers of H.R.T. Magnesia include:
-
Basic First Aid Knowledge
 -
BLS/AED Provider (Basic Life Support / Automated External Defibrillator)
 -
ILS Provider (Immediate Life Support)
 -
Trauma 1
 -
Trauma 2
 -
TFR (Trauma First Response)
 -
PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support)

The unit's activities include training new members in basic First Aid, providing advanced and specialized training to all H.R.T. members with internationally recognized certifications, and preparing members for external courses and First Aid certifications.
Additionally, the unit provides medical coverage for cultural and sports events, among others. One of its most important goals is prevention, public awareness, and community education. For this purpose, the unit organizes training sessions, seminars, and conferences addressed to individuals, associations, companies, organizations, and educational institutions.
Finally, the unit has a specialized instructional team covering the full spectrum of First Aid and conducts internationally certified First Aid seminars for citizens.
