How can I become a member of the Hellenic Rescue Team?
Become a Member of Greece's Largest Volunteer Rescue Organization and Help Us Save More Lives!
The Hellenic Rescue Team welcomes all individuals who wish to become volunteer rescuers and contribute in any way they can. To join, applicants must be at least 18 years old and participate in the Basic Training School, held every November at the Magnesia branch.
The training program lasts approximately two and a half to three months, during which prospective rescuers acquire essential knowledge in all aspects of rescue operations across different environments: mountains, aquatic areas, urban and non-urban settings, including mass disaster scenarios.
In addition, trainees receive comprehensive First Aid training, a fundamental skill required for all members of the Hellenic Rescue Team. The Basic Training School combines theoretical and practical lessons, ensuring that participants gain broad and in-depth knowledge while also experiencing the natural environments where they will be called to operate in the future.

How can I become a sponsor or supporter?
Support the Hellenic Rescue Team
The Hellenic Rescue Team, like most volunteer organizations in Greece, relies primarily on the support and goodwill of private individuals. We would never be able to participate in rescue operations, either in Greece or abroad, without the invaluable support—financial or in equipment—of companies and individuals who believed in our mission and helped us respond to those in need.
Our members have been offering their services for years to people at risk, without ever seeking financial compensation. The success of each rescue mission is our reward.
To ensure an immediate response to the next crisis anywhere in the world, and to help secure a sustainable future for thousands of people, we need your support—whether through financial contributions or by providing equipment that the organization needs.
In return, we can promote your sponsorship using all available channels. We are always grateful to everyone who has supported us in any way, giving us the courage to continue our work.

Can someone who is a member of another rescue team participate in the Basic Knowledge training of H.R.T. Magnesia without becoming a member?
Participation of Members from Other Rescue Teams in Basic Training
As part of a broader collaboration and recognizing the necessity of joint training, H.R.T. Magnesia may, upon prior arrangement, open positions in its Basic Rescue Training School for members of other rescue teams (over 18 years old). This ensures the smooth, safe, and successful cooperation of all rescuers in operational fields, regardless of the rescue organization they belong to.
Under no circumstances is this initiative intended to undermine the training programs of other rescue teams. On the contrary, it represents a move towards cooperation both in training and later in operational activities.
The Hellenic Rescue Team of Magnesia believes that all organizations operating in the field of rescue should collaborate rather than foster competition or isolation among their members.
