This unit of the Hellenic Rescue Team (H.R.T.) is responsible for collecting, transporting, and distributing humanitarian aid to populations affected by natural disasters or crises. It also manages aid programs for third countries, in cooperation with the Hellenic State and the European Union (ECHO).

In addition, the Social Welfare Unit develops initiatives aimed at supporting, assisting, and caring for vulnerable groups, families, and individuals in need. The unit collaborates closely with the Social Services of the Municipality of Volos, such as the Social Grocery and Welfare Department, as well as with local institutions including "Aspres Petaloudes," "Kivotos tou Kosmou" (Ark of the World), and the Volos Orphanage.
